The original October 4, 2016 message follows:"It is with deep regret that we inform you of the death of GEN Robert W. Cone, retired, who passed away on 19 September 2016 at the age of 59. GEN Cone retired in 2014 after over 34 years of service as an Armor officer. During the latter part of his career he served as Commanding General, III Corps and Fort Hood, Fort Hood, Texas, and later, he served as Commanding General, United States Army Training and Doctrine Command, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia.
